Highlanders edged visiting Chapungu 1-0 in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League played at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon.
South Africa bound Knox Mutizwa converted from the spot after Chapungu captain Collen Nyabadza intentionally handled inside the box.
Roy Mazingi, who was in goals for Chapungu, had been drawn out from his line and a Prince Dube effort from outside the box was prevented from going in by captain Nyabadza who used both his hands to punch Dube’s effort over the bar.
The referee of the afternoon was correctly pointed to the spot and sent off Nyabadza. Up-stepped Mutizwa who found the solitary strike for Bosso in the 55th minute. It was Mutizwa’s 4th goal of the season.
Under the tutelage of John Nyikadzino Chapungu played a defensive match with Bosso attacking from both ends with King Nadolo, Rahman Kutsanzira, Adrian Silla and Prince Dube proving to be too much too handle for the Chapungu rear-guard.
In the end Highlanders walked away with maximum points and moved into third spot with 10 points from five games.
In their next assignment Bosso will take on PSL new boys Ngezi Platinum.
