Manchester United will play Everton in the FA Cup semi-finals if they beat West Ham in their sixth round replay next month.
Louis van Gaal’s hopes of a Wembley May date were kept alive by Anthony Martial’s 83rd minute equaliser against The Hammers on Sunday.
United lost to Everton in their 2009 FA Cup semi-final replay on penalties.
United had drawn three Football League clubs in the Cup already this season before they hosted West Ham in their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
The replay could be played on Wednesday April 6 if United fail to qualify for the Europa League quarter-finals. However, if United do triumph over Liverpool then the earliest the replay could be played is either April 19 or 20 – just days before the FA Cup semis are staged.
The semi-final will be played on Saturday April 23 or Sunday April 24 at Wembley.
United last played in an FA Cup semi-final in 2011, when they lost 1-0 to City at the national stadium.
United were eliminated at the quarter-final stage by Arsenal last season, when they succumbed to their first home defeat to The Gunners in over eight years.
