Barcelona are now unbeaten in their last 30 games in all competitions after recording a 6-1 win at home to Celta Vigo in Sunday’s La Liga clash at Camp Nou.
The stunning victory has moved the Catalan giants three points clear of second-place Atletico Madrid, still with a game in hand, which is away to Sporting Gijon next week.
Celta were missing a number of key players, including Nolito, Iago Aspas and Fabian Orellana, but put in a strong performance in the first period, before being undone by three Luis Suarez goals in the second period – the third of which came from a Lionel Messi assist from the penalty spot.
The home side were not finished, however, and made it five and then six late on through Ivan Rakitic and Neymar to cap what was an incredible second 45 minutes.
