Callisto Pasuwa may have to coach the Warriors on a part-time basis if ZIFA cannot meet his salary demands.
ZIFA and Pasuwa have failed to agree so far on contract terms despite him working for 13months already . Pasuwa has reportedly been offered a salary of $3000 while he is demanding at least $7000.
Leading ZPSL clubs such as Dynamos, Caps United ,FC Platinum have their coaches on more than $3000 per month and Pasuwa’s management team believe a national team head coach should be earning above the proposed figure.
Gibson Mahachi who represents Pasuwa says a possible option could be to have Pasuwa on a part-time basis.
“They (ZIFA) should just make an official position so that we can find the way forward Mahachi told Newsday.
“We could then say if they can’t afford his salary, then we can back down on the demands and they can also allow him to work on a part-time basis. That way the coach can also look for another job while also coaching the national team.”
The Warriors are set to depart for CHAN 2016 this week while Pasuwa’s contract situation still hangs in the balance.
