ZIFA President Phillip Chiyangwa has said that the Warriors will share whatever amount they will win at CHAN.
Speaking in a wide range interview with the Sunday Mail Chiyangwa said the association will not seek to budget any of the prizes accumulated from the tournament but will instead let the players share it amongst themselves since they are the ones who suffer on the field of play.
“Our task as Zifa is to take the team to Chan and take good care of them. If they play well and win something, then the team will share all the proceeds,” said Chiyangwa.
Zimbabwe who are in group D with Zambia, Uganda and Mali are already guaranteed of $100000 since according to CAF prize breakdowns teams that finishes last at the group stage pocket $100000.
“It is the players who sweat on the field, they attract thousands of fans to the stadia and as such, they deserve more. Unoda kukwana ipapo ndiwe ani, ane nzara hatimude kubhora,” said Chiyangwa.
If Zimbabwe goes all the way and win the tournament then the team will smile all the way to the bank having shared amongst themselves the $750000 prize money.
A total of 16 national teams will share 3,2 million USD, the rest of the prizes area as following:

Runner-Up $400,000
3rd & 4th $250,000 each
Quarter Final Losers $175,000 each
3rd in Group $125,000 each
4th in Group $100,000
