The former Bayern Munich manager Ottmar Hitzfeld has criticised the Spanish giants for appointing the Frenchman as Rafa Benitez replacement.
Madrid announced Legend and fans favourite Zinedine Zidane as their new coach to replace Rafael Benitez who appears to be failing to sail the Madrid ship.
Hitzfeld, who won the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, believes the Frenchman has not proven himself as a coach and its insane for Madrid to appoint him.
“For Zidane, it is like winning a lottery,” Hitzfeld told Blick.
“It is an insane, crazy decision. He is a manager without any experience. He only lives on his famous name as a player.
“He hasn’t proved anything as a coach yet and now he has to deal with the best players in the world.”
