Highlanders head coach Amini Soma Phiri expressed his delight after beating Dynamos 2-1 in the Netone Easycall Cup semi-finals yesterday.
Phiri and Cosmas Zulu appointment following the sacking of Bongani Mafu was questioned by many Highlanders fans but with time the pair has steered Bosso in the right direction, finishing in a better position in the league and now reaching a cup final.
“When we came were a laughing but we now delivering the results. People looked down on us because we can from Division 3 said Phiri after the match.
Amini said their plan against Dynamos worked. “The aim was to get the early goal and kill the game in the second half and we managed to do that.
“The day belonged to us,and we defended well and kept Mutuma and Chinyama out. I applaud my boys for the win.
Highlanders though have already stated that the pair will be replaced at the end of the season as the club looks for a foreign head coach to take over.
Highlanders will now meet Chicken Inn in the final that will likely take place at Barbourfields Stadium.
Should Highlanders consider keeping the pair for next season?
