The ZIFA electoral committee has released the candidates that will contest the upcoming elections.
Former Zifa chairman and South Africa based businessman, Trevor Carelse Juul has been given the green light to contest the association’s elections set for 5 December.
A final list compiled by the Zifa Electoral Court confirmed Juul’s candidature. “After carefully perusing the papers filed by the aspiring candidates who number 17 read part of a statement.
The electoral Committee said the following candidates had been cleared to contest for the presidential post:
- Mr James Takavada
- Mr Leslie Gwindi
- Trevor David Juul
- Dr Philip Chiyangwa
Juul’s nomination papers had been initially rejected by the Zifa Electoral Court on 7 November after his papers had anomalies such as police clearance as well as a valid Zimbabwean passport.

Mr Elkana Dube succeeded but formally withdrew from the Election.

The Committee meticulously said they had gone through the candidates’ papers and was comfortably satisfied that the named candidates qualify to run for the positions they have selected.
All the positions are therefore contested and hence there shall be elections for all the vacant positions added the committee
