Former ZIFA vice president and Bulawayo businessman Omega Sibanda has backed Philip Chiyangwa for the ZIFA presidency.
Sibanda met with Chiyangwa yesterday in Bulawayo and agreed to be Chiyangwa’s running mate for the upcoming ZIFA elections.
Chiyangwa is keen to have Sibanda as his vice president and believes the former player agent has a lot to give and was not really given an opportunity in the previous Cuthbert Dube board. Where he was suspended and then expelled alongside other members by Cuthbert Dube.
‘I am partnering experienced and credible people and I think me and him at the top would be a good combination which will help Zimbabwean football said Chiyangwa.
Since submitting his candidate papers earlier in the week Chiyangwa has started his campaign trail and his embarked on a nationwide tour to gather support.
Chiyangwa claims he already has the backing of a number of the 58 councillors that will vote in the elections to be held on the 5th December.
