The Government has promised to reward the Mighty Warriors for their historic achievement of qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games.

The Mighty Warriors became the first Zimbabwean football team to qualify for the Olympics after beating African soccer giants 1-0 at Rufaro Stadium yesterday.

The win meant the tie over two legs finished on a 2-2 aggregate ,with Zimbabwe proceeding through the away goals rule

Speaking after the match Minister of Sport Makhosini Hlongwane said, “As government we are going to make sure the Mighty Warriors achievement does not gone unrecognised. I am going to meet with my colleagues (in government) ,so we can reward the team for this

“This is a very important achievement football is a very important part of our economy and country.

Hlongwane also said they would make sure that the team is adequately prepared for the games so that the play well to win
