Chicken Inn midfielder, Danny “Deco” Phiri says he feels bad about the back pass to Washington Arubi which gifted Guinea with an early goal in Zimbabwe’s one all draw against the West Africans.
Arubi has since apologised for the blunder.
Deco said despite the early mishap, the Warriors “rose to the occasion” and managed to salvage a draw through a Knowledge Musona strike.
“It’s never a good feeling but mistakes happen in football everyone rose to the occasion thank God. The back pass to Washy was a little bit too hard and I felt bad especially when it seemed that everyone turned against him,” he said.
The Warriors will now have to wait until March for their next Afcon qualifier where there are set to lock horns with Swaziland’s Isihlangu in Mbabane.
