Re-elected PSL boss Twine Phiri says it is an honour to be retained as the Chairman of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer league and has promised to achieve even more in his new tenure.
Phiri beat Dynamos Chairman Kenny Mubaiwa in the elections today, getting 12 votes while Mubaiwa could only manage 3 votes.
In his acceptance speech the retained chairman said it’s time to move forward and get to the business of running the league.
“Personally it’s an honour to be retained it shows that you have faith in my leadership but to be a leader there should be a team and I was happy with the guys who I worked with previously and we hope we will do even better, as an individual I will give it 150% and respect the office.
“We want to make sure that our league is an envy to others and they come here and copy our professionalism here and we are going to address issues like corporate governance and sponsorship to make sure that we are in line with international trends,”said the humble Phiri.
