The Zimbabwe national team has been bailed out by Netone and will now leave for Guinea in the early hours of Saturday morning according to ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa.
The Warriors players consisting of SA and locally based players are still in country ahead of their 2017 AFCON qualifier against Guinea on Sunday after failing to depart as scheduled.
The match is set to be played on Sunday at 19:00Hrs.
The Warriors will now leave at 02:30 am. Speaking at a press conference today Chiyangwa said,” We were hoping something would come hit our accounts but there was nothing till yesterday and we got in touch with Netone to assist and now tickets have been booked and guys will leave in early hours of the morning.
Netone is understood to have paid $68 000 in total to cover costs of the Warriors including air-fares.
Chiyangwa emphasised the need for the Warriors to win in Guinea and continue impressing to attract more corporate sponsorship would come through as a result.
