Twine Phiri has accepted his fate and believes it’s time to move on after being booted out from the Premier Soccer League chairmanship by the ZIFA constitution.
ZIFA have pushed for fresh PSL chairman elections after insisting that Twine Phiri had no right to still be in the top position as he was no longer CAPS United chairman or president after he ceded majority shares to Farai Jere.
CAPS United had insisted that Phiri was still their representative while local clubs backed him. However Phiri will has decided to accept the decision.
In an interview with ZBC News Hour Phiri said, “Enough is enough, I close my part. I am satisfied with what I have done its time to move on.
“I have left the PSL in good standing, if you go to the PSL bank account you will see it’s in good order added Phiri.
Phiri says he came to his decision after consulting his family, friends and colleagues. Phiri had a number of notable achievements during his 5 year reign with bringing in the Supersport deal and Castle Lager league sponsorship among them.
Highlanders chairman Peter Dube and Dynamos president Kenny Mubaiwa are set to contest the elections for a new PSL chairman.
