Dynamos have appointed Portuguese national Paulo Jorge Silva as their new head coach. Silva joins the former league champions on a three year deal.
Club president Kenny Mubaiwa confirmed the appointment this evening. Silva arrived in the country this evening at 6 pm and agreed terms with the club.
He beat a number of local and foreign based coaches to the top post.
Silva takes over from Tonderai Ndiraya who had been the care taker coach.There is no place for Ndiraya in the new technical team set up with Lloyd Mutasa coming in as an assistant to Silva and Gift Muzadi retaining his place as the goalkeepers coach.
Silva has a rich coaching experience having worked with German sides VfB Stuttgart, Greuther Furth, Nuremberg, Aalen and Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon in his home country.
He has had stints in the United Arab Emirates with the following clubs Al Wasl and Sharjah FC .
Crucially for Dynamos he has worked in Africa before with his last coaching job being at Nigerian side COD United in late 2015 .He has also worked with Tunisian side Esperance and Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak.
