England based right back Tendayi Darikwa remains keen on turning out for the Warriors despite not coming for the AFCON qualifier against Guinea
Darikwa who has been having a good season with championship side Burnley reportedly turned down a call up however the reason according to English media reports was that he received the call from ZIFA late.
A report in the Lancashire Telegraph stated: The right back opted against joining up with the squad on this occasion due to insufficient notice.
Darikwa has in the past expressed interest in playing for Zimbabwe despite his eligibility to play for England.
Though born in England Darikwa qualifies to play for Zimbabwe due to his Zimbabwean parents . Darikwa joined Burnley on a three year deal this year from League One side Chesterfield. He had a memorable last season with Chesterfield winning the Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Season awards.
